Board of Inquiry Chair waives hearing and admits to resigning

Jorge Seguro Sanchez, chairman of the TAP Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry, abandoned the ongoing work on Tuesday.

According to the Jornal de Negócios, Seguro Sanchez also said that given the criticism and allegations he has received, he will consider whether he will remain in his post.

“In view of the questions asked, including the inelegant ones, I have to consider whether I can continue to lead the commission of inquiry into the TAP,” he said, getting up and leaving the room.

According to the same source, the question arose from a discussion about the timing of the auditions. CPI approved a shorter time grid, which it used to audition more than 10 unions representing TAP workers.
