Russian airport attacked by drones. Airspace closed, four aircraft destroyed

An airport in Pskov, Russia, was the target of a drone attack early Wednesday morning that destroyed four Russian military transport planes, Reuters reported.

“The Ministry of Defense is repelling a drone attack on the Pskov airport,” Pskov Governor Mikhail Vedernikov wrote on Telegram.

After the incident, the airspace of Vnukovo Airport in Moscow was closed.

“As a result of the drone strike, four Il-76 aircraft were damaged. There was a fire, two aircraft caught fire,” TASS reported.

The Russian army said on Telegram that during an operation in the Black Sea, one of its aircraft destroyed four Ukrainian fast ships with up to 50 paratroopers. They added that they shot down three Ukrainian drones in the southern region of Bryansk and one in Russian Orlov.

The main Russian airports, including Moscow ones, are closed to air traffic.

In the area of the Sevastopol Bay of Crimea, an attack by enemy drones was repulsed from the sea, the governor said. All forces and services are on alert.

According to the Ukraine Alarm website, almost the entire territory of Ukraine is in a state of air alert.
