According to the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, applications for the €750 universal digital learning check will open on September 8 through the Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP).
This is the “Check – Training + Digital Technologies” program, intended for all employees, regardless of their employment, in the amount of up to 750 euros for training that gives them the opportunity to acquire digital skills. The measure was introduced in July by the Secretary of State for the Labor Party, Miguel Istochniks.
The date for the opening of applications (and the availability of the corresponding form) of the IEFP was announced this Monday by the digital newspaper Eco and confirmed by the Luse Department of Labor, which also indicates that the number of beneficiaries reaches 25 thousand.
“The +Digital Training Check application will begin on the 8th through the IEFP,” the source said, adding that “this potential number of beneficiaries has been confirmed,” in response to Luce about a potential universe of 25,000 people. .
In July, in statements to Lusa, Miguel Fontes explained that this initiative falls under the Job + Digital measure, then indicating that it will be implemented in September of this month.
This measure is based on “the ability of any worker, regardless of the nature of his attitude to the situation in which he finds himself in the labor market, to be able to use a check in the amount of [até] €750 for a digital skills training course of your choice,” the Secretary of State said.
According to a government official, “They may be about issues related to cybersecurity, data processing, digital ‘marketing’, things that every worker thinks is important to improve their skills in the labor market,” or logic. those who aspire to professional reconversion, to a change of job, to the search for another field of activity, can, let’s say, be properly trained and prepared in this sense.
The Secretary of State recalled that the program as a whole, including three more measures in addition to verification, will be the goal of mobilizing 94 million euros under the Program for Recovery and Resilience (PRR).
According to Miguel Fontes, the government started with the “Employment + Digital” measure launched a year ago, which resulted in “the ability for companies to apply for training for all or part of their workers.”
“At the moment, out of these 94 million, 43 million euros have already been allocated to this measure,” said the minister, who estimates that around 200,000 workers are covered.
“The goal now is to have the remainder divided between these three measures,” he pointed out, stressing that since it is an “open system”, they have decided to “not adopt the logic of budget allocation by measure”, but “implement integrated management in accordance with the requirements that each of these modalities will demonstrate.
The remaining measures are related to the training of leaders and coaches.
