Service on the Red Line of the Lisbon metro has been restored after a signaling fault

Service on the Red Line of the Lisbon metro has been restored after a break due to a signaling fault, the company announced this Monday on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

According to a post published at 9:36 p.m., service on the Red Line was disrupted due to a “signaling fault” and the company warned that replacement time could be “more than 15 minutes.”

Earlier at 21:30, the Metropolitano de Lisboa reported that service on the Red Line between Aeroporto and Bela Vista stations was disrupted due to a “train breakdown.”

The same publication said it was impossible to “predict the length of the break,” adding that it could “extend.”

The Lisbon Metro operates daily on four lines: yellow (Rato-Odivelas), green (Telheiras-Cais do Sodré), blue (Reboleira-Santa Apolonia) and red (Airport-Sao Sebastian).

Usually the metro operates from 6:30 to 1:00.
