Four people, three in Amares and one in Barcelos, Braga district, were left homeless this Saturday due to flooding caused by the bad weather that is ravaging the country, a source in the subregional command of Cavado told Lusa.
Also, according to the same source, the displaced persons, who were not injured, found shelter in the homes of their families.
However, in the Braga area, in Vila Verde, the event farm was flooded from 7:00 to 12:00 due to increased flow of the Homem River, the man in charge of this catering equipment, José Silva, told Lusa.
Rising waters damaged several equipment on the farm, added the source, who confirmed that no activities were planned for this weekend.
Local firefighters responded to the scene in the afternoon after the river had returned to flow to remove the water. José Silva estimates the situation will “last for many hours.”
