Carmino releases new album “Portuguesa” in March and embarks on a European tour

Portuguese singer Carmino is releasing a new album in March called “Portuguesa”, which is the result of “a quest to deepen her views on fado,” music agency Arruada said on Tuesday.

The album “Portuguesa”, which will be published on March 3, is created by the artist herself and brings together 14 themes, including “original traditional fado” composed by Carmigno, such as “As flores” (Fado Flores), in which she signs the music and lyrics. .

The album, which was recorded within the last two years, but in particular in the spring of 2022, also includes several guest authors such as Rita Vian, who wrote “Simplesmente ser”, Luisa Sobral, “Sentaste ao meu”, Joana Espadinha in ” Ficar” and the Brazilian musician Marcelo Camelo, who wrote “I take my boat to the sea”.

The released cast also includes “My love sailor” by Antonio Campos and Joaquim Pimentel and “Marcha de Alcantara de 1969” by José da Silva Nunez and Jorge d’Avila.

Portuguesa is Carmigno’s sixth album, released five years after Maria, on which she also signed several original songs.

“Carmino was born among guitars and fado voices, the daughter of the famous fado singer Teresa Siqueira, she made her public singing debut at the age of twelve in the Coliseu,” the official page says.

In 2009, he edited his first album titled “Fado”, followed by “Alma” (2012), “Canto” (2014), “Carminho sings Tom Jobim” (2016) and “Maria” (2018).

Throughout her career, the fado singer has recorded and sung with artists from other musical fields, namely the Brazilians Chico Buarque, Milton Nascimento and Marisa Monte, the Spaniard Pablo Alboran and the Portuguese HMB and Barbara Bandeira.

At the time of the announcement of this new album, Carmine scheduled a series of European shows starting in February, namely in Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Belgium.
