Sport Zone warned of a cybersecurity incident that could compromise customers’ order and login details and asked them to pay attention to possible fraud attempts and suspicious emails.
In the post, the company said it had “experienced a cybersecurity incident” and apologized for “any impact” it “may have caused.”
“We are conducting a thorough and methodical investigation with cybersecurity experts to understand the situation, contain the incident and protect our systems,” he noted, explaining that the investigation, “which is ongoing, now reveals that one of the affected systems includes some ordering and login details” of “customers on the Sport Zone website that may have been accessed or viewed by an unauthorized external entity.”
The brand emphasized that it does not have “all the data regarding payment cards or passwords used” on the site.
“The protection of our clients’ data is an extremely serious issue for us, and we are analyzing the situation in detail,” he assured.
Sport Zone also asked customers to remain vigilant “to fraud attempts and alert to suspicious emails, calls or text messages” as a “preventive measure.”
Lusa attempted to contact Sport Zone, but the brand only sent the same email address that was sent to customers in the letter for further clarification.
