A 58-year-old man died this morning while fishing with a friend near Largo de Santo Estevan on the island of Baleal in Peniche.
The victim felt bad, he sat down on a stone, where he lost consciousness. Friends called 112.
The humanitarian resources of the Peniche firefighters, INEM, the immediate life support ambulances (SIV) from Peniche and the medical emergency and resuscitation vehicles (VMER) from the Torres Vedras Hospital were mobilized to the scene.

Marine police arrived at the scene and took over the investigation to determine the circumstances of the death.
The victim, 58 years old, was a resident of the municipality of Almeirim.
