American singer Michael Bolton had to undergo emergency surgery to remove a brain tumor last Friday. The musician is currently recovering at home.
The singer said on Instagram that he was diagnosed with the tumor late last year, “just before the holidays,” and learned that he would need immediate surgery. Bolton assured that the operation “was a success” and that he is “recovering at home, surrounded by the love and support” of his family.
The singer will have to rest for the next few months, and so he announced that he will take a “temporary break” from his tour, which begins in February and includes concerts in several states in the US, UK, and Canada. and Switzerland.
“Disappointing fans or postponing a show is always the hardest thing for me to do, but rest assured, I’m working hard to speed up my recovery and get back to performing as soon as possible,” he wrote on Instagram.
The singer thanked “all the love and support” fans have given “over the years” and recalled that he keeps all the “positive messages in his heart.” Michael assured that he would provide updates “as soon as he can.”
The 70-year-old musician is known for hits such as “When a Man Loves a Woman” and “Said I Love You… But I Lied.”
