Several public figures have used social media to urge people to vote in this Sunday’s legislative elections. Influencers, actors, comedians and TV presenters shared photos of the moment they exercised their right to vote.
TV presenter Catarina Furtado made two posts on Instagram, one on Saturday, where she left a text calling on the Portuguese people to vote: “Go to the polls and feel the power of your informed choice.”
This Sunday, the presenter made another publication with a photograph of a ballot and wrote: “It is absolutely necessary that we do not allow them to vote for us.”
Comedian Nuno Markle also posted on Instagram reporting little movement in the place where he voted and asking Portuguese people to go to the polls to “go vote.”
Early this morning, Margarida Corceiro posted an Instagram story showing off her voting form. The same was done by spouses Lourenço Ortigao and Kelly Bailey and actress Sarah Prata.
TV presenter Claudio Ramos appealed to the Portuguese to vote with two “stories”.
Polling stations closed at 7 p.m.
