A young man between 16 and 20 years old suffered serious injuries this Friday after being stabbed in the back in Barreiro, Setúbal district, a PSP source said.
A source in the PSP National Directorate told Lusa that the patrol came across a wounded young man, accompanied by another running with a knife in his back, on Avenida D. Joao I in the city center.
He said agents approached the youths, who refused to tell them what happened, and alerted emergency services.
According to the same source, a young man with a knife stuck in his back was taken by firefighters in serious condition to the García de Orta Hospital in Almada.
The Subregional Command for Emergency Situations and Civil Protection of the Setúbal Peninsula contacted Lusa and limited itself to confirming the fact of a serious injury as a result of a knife attack on Avenida D. João I in Barreiro, sounding the alarm at 19:00.
The case has been transferred to the judicial police, the PSP source added.
