The Minister of Agriculture of Ukraine was released on bail in connection with an investigation into a corruption case.

Ukrainian Agriculture Minister Nikolai Solsky was released this Friday on bail of 75.7 million hryvnia (1.78 million euros) after being accused of corruption, the publication reports. Reuters.

Nikolai Solsky denied his participation in the illegal acquisition of state land in the period before taking office as Minister of Agriculture.

The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine ordered Solsky’s detention for at least 60 days, which Solsky could have avoided if he had paid bail.

Solsky submitted his resignation on Thursday, which must be accepted by the Ukrainian parliament, after he was charged this week by the Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU).
