A man in his 70s and two grandchildren, a boy and a girl in their 20s, were rescued by the Leixões rescue station after the fishing vessel Mar dos Segredos sank early this Friday morning off da Madalena, Vila. Nova de Gaia.
The alarm was raised at about 1 am from another fishing vessel. The victims had to spend the night trawling the beam. The boat sank about four miles (7.4 km) off Madalena Beach in Gaia.
For what CM An official Navy source reported that three victims were on a life raft. They were rescued by members of the Leixoes rescue station and taken to the marina in Lesa da Palmeira, Matosinhos, where they were rescued.
The elderly man suffered a blow to the head, and the granddaughter had a panic attack. They were both assisted by the Matosinhos Lesa Fire Department.
NCIS was at the scene.
