Louise Cobs, 91, after 41 years as a police communicator, is retiring. The elderly woman was admitted to a New York City Council ceremony commemorating more than forty decades as a Long Island police officer.
On November 4, 1981, at the age of 50, Cobs joined the Nassau, New York Police Department as a school zone signaller.
“This is a very, very dedicated woman with a huge community spirit who is a model employee,” Nassau Mayor Bruce Blakeman said. Fox News Digital.
“These were my children.” I loved them all. I saw them grow up,” Cobs said of the children he saw crossing his path for 41 years. Louise watched the children grow up and become parents.
The 91-year-old was praised by several employees for her dedication to the community. “We all need to learn a little lesson about the importance of our work and what it means to other people, not just ourselves,” the police chief said.
