The strengthening of the runway at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport in Maya will begin on July 31 and will take 19 months, from Monday to Saturday, from 00:00 to 6:00, with an investment of 50 million euros. A fair has been announced for Monday.
In a statement, ANA Aeroportos explained that the ability to operate at night is aimed at “minimizing the impact on airport operations.”
The construction contract was signed this Monday with Acciona and represents “an investment in quality, safety and environmental performance to meet the growth of air traffic,” according to a press release.
The statement said that with this operation, ANA will “improve the operational conditions of the airport and this will be the largest intervention carried out on the runway of this infrastructure.”
