Seven nights of music for 35,000 people in Oeiras

The Jardins do Marquês festival kicks off this Wednesday in Oeiras with Dominican Juan Luis Guerra, one of the main names in Latin American music and the man who popularized the song “Borbulhas de Amor”. Seven nights of concerts, until the 10th, with the most eclectic musical titles.

According to Luis Montes of the producer Música no Coração, the event, designed to accommodate “five thousand people a day”, with a budget of “1.2 million euros”, has already sold out for one evening, the 7th, or so it is. Its main attraction will not be one of the greatest icons of North American music, Patti Smith.

According to Luis Montes, “there are still two nights that are very close to being sold out”, today, with Juan Luis Guerra, who “will bring us a big entourage for a big party”, and the evening of the 10th, which will be headlined by a poster by the Brazilian Djavan.

This Thursday the festival welcomes Stacey Kent and Danilo Caimmi for a show dedicated to the work of António Carlos Jobim; Friday, Adriana Calcanhotto; on the 6th, Nelson Freitas and Dodge; and on the 9th, Portugal’s António Zambujo and Brazil’s Yamandu Costa.

Tickets range from 25 to 75 euros.
