This month, the Environment Fund will begin supporting the More Sustainable Buildings Support Programme, which ended last October with around 80,000 applications. The announcement was made on Wednesday by Environment Minister Graça Carvalho, who guaranteed in parliament that everything would be paid by the end of the year.
The programme, which supports costs already incurred in installing energy systems, has a global allocation of 30 million euros. Projects supported include the installation of efficient windows and solar panels, as well as other energy efficiency systems.
The amount of support varies depending on the type of system installed and its location (an increase is expected outside urban centres) from a minimum of €500 to a maximum of €7,500.
However, applicants will be required to sign an acceptance form within 15 (calendar) days, so they should pay attention to communications from the Environment Fund.
