The swap of a Renault Mégane RS for a Seat Leon Cupra has caused controversy among the French police, but the swap has paid off, as it did ten days ago in the Haute-Savoie region, near Switzerland.
After all, the 310-horsepower sports car managed to “intercept” the 700-horsepower McLaren Artura during acceleration on the A41 motorway, connecting Geneva with Marseille, beyond the legally permitted limits.
The driver tested positive for cocaine and hashish, but the “surprises” didn’t end there. A search of the McLaren Artura turned up a military-caliber pistol that had been modified to make it even more lethal.
The news was announced by the National Gendarmerie itself on Facebook, but it remains to be seen how the León Cupra, which has half the power of the super sports car, managed to capture it.
