Mind Da Gap, one of the benchmarks of Portuguese rap, will be back together this Saturday on stage at the 28th edition of the Super Bock Super Rock festival, which ends near Meco, Sesimbra, and is headlined by the British Stormzy.
Ace, Presto and Serial will be back together after ten years away from the stage for a concert that is set to be unique and will feature guest appearances by Maze, Sam The Kid and Valete.
Formed in Porto in 1993 under the name Da Wreckas, Mind Da Gap decided in 2016 to put an end to a career during which they released six original albums, the last of which came out in 2012.
“Main part [alinhamento do] The concert is defined from the very beginning by the songs that have had the greatest success and continue to have the greatest number of views. [visualizações] and listen more,” Ace said in a conversation between the trio and Lusa this month.
The three will “try to take the songs a little bit outside the deck,” but since the set time is limited, they’ll mostly focus on “what could be Mind Da Gap’s ‘greatest hits.'”
In other words, the lineup should not have themes like “Selflessness”, “You are like a gift”, “Let’s go or stay”, “Don’t stop”, “Everyone is fat”, “Don’t stress” or “You are where I want to be”.
Mind Da Gap will open the festival’s main stage this Saturday, with rapper Stormzy closing the set and Vulfpeck and DJ Fisher also set to perform.
The other two stages, set up in Herdade do Cabeço de Flauta, in the Setúbal district, feature Hause Plants, Anna Calvi, D4VD, Kneecap, Diana Oliveira and Partiboi69.
To get to the festival, the organization recommends using public transport.
“The ideal option is to take the train to Coina and then the bus stops at the door,” recalls Luis Montes, recalling that the train ride is included in the areas covered by the Navegante Pass.
In addition, at the entrance to the site there is a TVDE point and “an incredible parking lot, an outstanding work of the Sesimbra City Council, which will be illuminated and accompanied by guides”.
Adjacent to the enclosure is a camping area, free for three-day pass holders, that opens at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday and closes at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday.
“Those who did not buy a pass and do not want to go home [depois dos concertos] “You can buy a night at a campsite,” said Luis Montes.
