“It’s a lie. My children took a bath”: mother of children living in poor conditions in Setubal, tells CMTV

The mother of three minors taken from their family on Tuesday in Setúbal explains morning Post that the children did not suffer abuse and that the house they lived in was a temporary home until they found a better place.

The discovery of the conditions the children were subjected to was made last Wednesday because of the fine. The police went to the house to arrest the father of the minors and faced the situation. There were no doors or windows in the house, and the whole family slept on the same mattress.

An immediate order was given to remove the children from their parents’ custody before they could be treated at the hospital.

According to a neighbor, the parents of 23 and 25 had no profession, “they only worked at landfills.” Children helped their parents with scrap metal. The man was released after paying a fine, and the couple were found guilty of crimes of endangerment and abandonment.
