Pro-Putin blogger killed in attack on cafe owned by founder of Wagner Group

Pro-Putin blogger, Vladlen Tatarsky, died this Sunday in an explosion at a cafe in St. Petersburg, Russia. At least 25 people were injured as a result of the terrorist attack, which also resulted in the death of an “authority”, according to the Moscow television channel RT.

According to this TV channel, the cause of a strong explosion that occurred in the second city of Russia was an improvised explosive device planted in a statue delivered to Tatar.

According to interfaxDarya Trepova, who lived in St. Petersburg, has already been detained as a suspect in the attack.

The head of the Russian Interior Ministry confirmed the death of Tatarsky, whose real name is Maxim Fomin.

The cafe where the attack took place must have belonged to Evgeny PrigozhinAO, the founder of the Wagner Group, a Russian mercenary group that took on the defense of Moscow, namely in the bloody battles near Bakhmut, in the Donbass.

Who was Vladlen Tatarsky?

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, on both sides of the battlefield, a legion of “influencers” called “war journalists” have been covering the war, garnering thousands of followers, especially on the social network Telegram.

Russian Vladlen Tatarsky was part of this group of reporters enlisted in the military. He was considered an ardent supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin, although he was occasionally a calculated critic of the regime.

Tatarsky was sometimes critical of Russian military failures in Ukraine, but he was considered a pro-Putin activist. He had over half a million subscribers on Telegram.
