Search resumed for young man who disappeared at sea on Torres Vedras beach

This Thursday, authorities resumed the search for a 25-year-old citizen who went missing Wednesday afternoon at sea on Santa Rita Beach in Torres Vedras, said Captaincy Commander Peniche.

Artur Simas Silva told the Lusa news agency that the search was resumed at 7:00 a.m. using a Navy cutter and a Peniche lifeboat.

For aerial surveillance of the search area, an Air Force helicopter was called in to operate in the morning starting at 10:30 a.m. and a Navy drone in the afternoon.

On land, searches are carried out by the Maritime Police, civil protection and firefighters of Torres Vedras.
