This Saturday, a fire broke out in a factory for the production of glues and paints in Rua da Cavada, São Cosme, in Gondomar.

According to Manuel Vian of Valbom Corporation, firefighters have ordered the evacuation of all homes within five kilometers of the perimeter of the fire at the Sociedade Portuense de Drogas chemical plant. According to the mayor, 15 houses have already been evacuated.
Marco Martins also took the opportunity to ask people to “keep off the scene” because the fire is “out of control” at a plant that has “chemical materials and flammable products”.
More than 100 operators from various fire brigades are fighting the fire, supported by dozens of vehicles.
