The Judicial Police identified, located and detained in Gondomar a 34-year-old man who is “seriously charged” with aggravated robbery and extortion with the use of a firearm.
In its statement, the SP clarified that between the end of September and the beginning of October 2023, the victim, using a computer application for booking, sexual contacts of a homosexual naturearranged to meet two other men at a commercial establishment in Valongo where he worked after closing time.
“During the meeting, the detainee and another suspect, whose identity has not yet been established, pointed a firearm at him and, using threats, stole all the money he had, after which they fled the scene,” he adds.
According to the Accounts Chamber, fearing possible social consequences, the victim chose not to file a complaint with the authorities.
“However, on August 17, while the victim was working in another commercial establishment, also in Valongo, he was again approached by the suspect, who demanded the immediate delivery of a large sum of money, threatening him verbally and showing him a firearm, he managed to force him to collect some money and give it to him,” explains PJ.
A detainee who is unemployed, has police records for crimes against personal freedom, physical integrity and property and has a conviction for driving without a license will be brought before the competent judicial authority for judicial interrogation and the application of coercive measures.
