A man suspected of committing three bank robberies in Luza, Pereira and Barcuso, in the districts of Coimbra and Aveiro, will await progress in pre-trial detention, PJ said on Wednesday.
The statement of the Judicial Police (SP) clarified that the 27-year-old man was brought to the judicial authorities for the first interrogation, a measure of restraint was applied to him.
A person residing in Coimbra was detained by the SP through the Board of Directors of the Centre, which executed an arrest warrant issued by the Department of Investigations and Criminal Affairs (DIAP) of Coimbra.
The man has been “severely charged” with three crimes of bank robbery that took place on 8 and 20 March and 18 April 2023 in the localities of Luza and Pereira, in the Coimbra region and in Barcuso. in the municipality of Mealhada, Aveiro region.
“Usually, the suspect entered the bank premises wearing dark glasses and a cap, as if he were a client. He then threatened employees with imitation firearms, but with the appearance of a real pistol, and stole valuables in cash that were in the box, ”the note says.
According to the police, “important evidence” was seized, including a reproduction of a firearm/pistol, a car and various items purchased with the proceeds of crime.
