The Angolan authorities released eight Vietnamese women from captivity and arrested another citizen of the same nationality, accused of promoting prostitution and wrongful imprisonment, a representative of the Criminal Investigation Service (CIS) said.
According to Manuel Haliva, following a complaint in the Chikuksi district, Viana municipality, where the site was discovered, a micro-surgery was performed on these women, aged 31 to 41, who were being held in custody.
“In light of the discovery, a 38-year-old Vietnamese citizen who is responsible and the leader of this criminal network that recruits Vietnamese citizens through the Internet, in particular on the social network Facebook, has been arrested,” he said.
The SIC representative stated that women were attracted to the labor market in Angola, especially commercial enterprises selling various goods, hairdressing and other services.
“But what you wrote here has a different purpose, which is actually the exploitation or promotion of paid prostitution,” said Manuel Halaiva, stressing that the accused was arrested at the scene of the crime for facts that constitute crimes of human trafficking. creatures assisting illegal immigration and pandering.
The investigation found that the accused has an accomplice, who is allegedly her partner, the owner of the shipyard where the women were found.
“This citizen also facilitates contacts with other compatriots, we are talking about Vietnamese citizens, as well as the Chinese, who use these citizens when paying 100,000 kwanzas. [177,5 euros] and at the end of the month they receive some kind of remuneration for the services rendered,” he said.
Manuel Haliva said that as part of the investigation, there were reports of the sale of recruited women.

The duty officer emphasized that the rescued women were hidden in the basement, which would be difficult to detect in the event of a local check.
