The PCP says “conclusions need to be drawn” from what the TAP investigation team has already found.

The PCP said on Tuesday that “conclusions need to be drawn” from the facts already established by the TAP investigation panel, which are not layoffs but changes in practice and policy.

At a time when the hearings of the Commission of Inquiry enter the final phase of the former and current rulers, PKP MP Bruno Diaz, at a press conference in Parliament, reiterated the importance for the Communists of “talking about the TAR”, considering that “for those who manage to penetrate through the foam mediated cases, important conclusions can be drawn” regarding the airline.

“We will continue to interfere with the work of the commission of inquiry, either at the hearing stage, which has not yet ended, or in the face of the report that will be prepared, but when we see every day the need to draw conclusions from what is happening in the commission of inquiry, we would like to emphasize the following: the consequences should be drawn,” he defended.

Noting that the PCP is not “talking about layoffs”, Bruno Diaz asked for changes in “practice and policy”.

“The coincidence of this commission of inquiry with the opening of the TAR privatization process by the Government objectively connects the PS with the right to economic crime, which is necessary and can be avoided,” he criticized.

For the Communists, “the country should not hand over yet another strategic company to foreign capital”, but rather “create the conditions for the TAP to do what it has to do”.

Among the findings that the PCP MP believes have already emerged from this parliamentary inquiry are the “importance of TAP to the national economy” and the fact that David Neeleman bought “TAP with TAP’s own money.” .

“The Commission of Inquiry has already demonstrated that the PS government has failed. It restored public ownership of TAP, but the private ones continued to rule,” he denounced, pointing out that “TAP is over-capitalized to allow a future private buyer to acquire it at a bargain price.”

Regarding the restructuring of the company, Bruno Diaz resorted to the expression of the former “chairman” of TAP Manuel Beja: “the attack on the workers came to the bone.”

“Finally, the work of the commission of inquiry also showed that one of the problems with TAP is that it was run – even when it was a public company – as if it were a private company,” he lamented.

Therefore, it is necessary for the Communists to put an end to “the importation of the worst methods of private government, including the millions of salaries of its administrators”, as well as “secrecy and confidentiality in public administration.”

PCP also wants to “replace what has been laid off” with TAP workers, “the real life savers of the company”, while still hiring those needed to “guarantee the operation and growth” of the airline.

According to Bruno Diaz, “substantial facts” have already been established about the process that led to the creation of this commission of inquiry, since “the compensation paid to Alexandra Reis is illegal and must be returned” and who paid and who authorized this payment already fired or retired.

“Perhaps for this reason, the focus of media coverage by the commission of inquiry has shifted to secondary issues, often overblown, which has greatly contributed not only to the devaluation of the TAP and attacks on the existence of public companies, but also to undermine institutions and the democratic regime, in a toxic environment, in which the PKP not only does not see itself, but also seeks to contradict it,” he stressed.
