The Judicial Police (SP) detained a 19-year-old youth suspected of raping a 21-year-old woman, who was placed under a preventive measure, it was reported on Wednesday.
“The Judicial Police, through the Department of Criminal Investigations of Madeira, have detained, in accordance with a warrant issued by the State Ministry – DIAP of Funchal, a 19-year-old man suspected of committing a crime of rape in which he was a victim of a woman, 21 years old,” the statement sent by the SP said. .
The detainee was presented to the competent judicial authorities, a measure of restraint in the form of a preliminary detention was applied to him, the note says.
The SP points out that “the facts took place earlier this month in the city of Funchal, with emphasis on the proximity of the residences of the victim and the aggressor.”
“Following the filing of the complaint, several steps were taken to collect evidence and fully identify the alleged author, culminating in his arrest,” he adds.
