Parliament has adjusted some of the labor standards of the Decent Work Agenda, clarifying that in the event of the death of a person living in a de facto union with a worker, there is a right to 20 days of absence, rather than five.
The correction statement was published in Diário da República earlier this week and, as he told Lusa Simão de Sant’Ana of Abreu Advogados, aims to “clarify the content of several rules which, if not amended, would raise doubts in interpretation” and. ultimately lead “to legal solutions other than those contained in the final proposal adopted and approved by the Assembly of the Republic”.
Among these amendments to the Decent Work Agenda, which came into force a month ago, it includes, in addition to the number of days of a respectful absence to which a worker is entitled, the possibility of a collective regulation instrument, and not just a collective work agreement, to be able to set the amount of compensation due to a worker for costs associated with ensuring its activities in the remote work mode.
