The computer network that serves justice, namely the general jurisdiction systems CITIUS and SITAF of the administrative and tax courts, is down this Wednesday morning, a court source told Lusa.
Both the CITIUS and SITAF computer systems are “down”, the source said, and while the systems do start up in some places, they end up shutting down immediately afterwards, preventing them from being used.
This failure in the computer system, according to the source, calls into question court hearings, investigations by the prosecutor’s office and other steps related to the use of computers in the IT network of justice.
“Anything that also requires recording and is associated with computer platforms does not work,” he added.
The source said that the Institute for Financial Management and Justice Equipment (IGFEJ), in charge of justice IT platforms, only said that the problem was due to “technical limitations” and that they hope to fix the glitch as soon as possible. .
Contacting the Department of Justice, the press office told Lusa that “due to an issue confirmed on Tuesday at the external ‘data center’ hosting justice equipment, technical restrictions remain in services affecting justice services.”
“Technological teams are working on their complete replacement,” concludes the response of the Ministry of Justice.
