This Friday, the Prime Minister found it regrettable and unacceptable that the SDP chairman is questioning the seriousness of the intelligence services and the Supervisory Board, saying that this is because this body “has not confirmed the false version.”
In a written reply to a letter sent on Thursday by Luis Montenegro, António Costa finds it regrettable, on the one hand, that the Social Democratic leader “groundlessly and contrary to all established and documented facts questions the integrity of the Minister of Infrastructure, any other members of the government” and himself prime minister regarding information services.
“But it is unacceptable that this calls into question the independence, impartiality and professionalism of the Secretary General of the Information System of the Portuguese Republic (SIRP), an eminent diplomat with an impeccable career in public service, as well as the integrity of the information services themselves, their directors and employees, who will not safely carry out an order, instruction or instruction to commit an unlawful act,” the prime minister refers.
