Guarda Polytechnic president and vice president Joaquim Brigas and Carlos Rodriguez, respectively, were acquitted this Wednesday again “on all charges of illegally intercepting their predecessors’ emails,” the institution said.
In a statement, the Guarda Polytechnic Institute (IPG) recalled that “after the first acquittal in 2021, the Court of Appeal of Coimbra urged the Guarda court to better substantiate its decision, which happened today.”
In 2021, following the Tribunal da Guarda’s first decision, IPG rules “began to specify that all institutional email accounts at the institute terminate when their holders cease to hold the positions to which they were elected or appointed,” he explained.
