A 62-year-old woman died this Wednesday morning in a house explosion in São Salvador do Campo, Barcelos.
As found out morning PostThe explosion was caused by a gas leak. The house had a solid extension with a kitchen, that’s where the woman was when the explosion occurred.
A 52-year-old man was injured and taken to Braga hospital. After the incident, the house was completely destroyed and uninhabitable.
Volunteer firefighters Barcelos, Barcelinos and Viathodos, as well as the emergency medical and resuscitation team (VMER) of Barcelos are on site.
The municipal commander of civil protection also oversees operations on the ground. A team of INEM psychologists is on site.
