A 25-year-old girl died a week after she was attacked by her ex-boyfriend while leaving her home in Lagoa.
The judicial police have already identified the suspect, who surrendered to the GNR two days after the crime.
Joana Nascimento was surprised by the suspect as she left her home in Lagoa. It all happened around 8:30 am on June 15, when the teacher was going to work.

The victim was hit in the neck and managed to escape from the scene in a car.

She was flown by helicopter to Santa Maria Hospital, where she underwent surgery. But on Friday night, the worst happened. Joan could not stand the generalized infection and died.
The GNR was at the scene of the crime but referred the case to the Judicial Police as it was the crime of attempted murder.

Investigators are awaiting autopsy results to confirm whether death was from injuries sustained to the neck.
