The Ministry of Education has decided to extend the registration period for 5th year students due to computer issues preventing parents from registering.
The enrollment of 4th year graduates began on Thursday and had a deadline of July 10, Monday, but Lusa was informed by several guardians that the enrollment portal was blocking halfway through, preventing the process from completing.
When questioned by Lusa, a representative of the Ministry of Education explained that “there is a problem with the computer that is being solved” and that “the registration period will be extended.”
As for the new deadlines, the ministry explained that they depended on “the guarantee of a solution to the problem by the IT company” and that at that time “new compensation deadlines for the time during which the Portal was not working” will be indicated. .
Several families informed Lusa today that they cannot enroll children who move into 5th grade, information confirmed by the National Confederation of Parents Associations (Confap).
According to Confap President Mariana Carvalho, some families “are waiting to see if they can finally register today.”
Enrollment is required for students who are changing educational cycles or intending to change schools, and currently only enrollment is taking place for students moving into Year 5.
