Online payments company Paypal mistakenly credited $92 quadrillion to the account of Chris Reynolds, a native of Pennsylvania, USA, but after just three minutes he corrected the mistake.
The story took place in July 2013. Chris Reynolds now gave an interview to an American newspaper Philadelphia Daily News, where he told what he felt at the moment when he realized the amount received. “At first I thought I owed quadrillions of dollars. It was a big surprise,” he said.
For a moment, the man became the richest man in the world. However, Paypal quickly became aware of the issue and fixed it, apologizing to Chris and allowing him to choose a charity to donate an undisclosed amount.
When asked what he would do if he could save the quadrillions, the man replied that he would “pay the American national debt.”
Currently, even the richest names on the planet, such as Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos, do not exceed billions of dollars.
