The Judicial Police (SP) detained a 33-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of the rape, robbery and kidnapping that took place on 14 August last year in Viseu. According to a JV press release, the victim, a 48-year-old man, was invited to a meeting and ended up being threatened in the suspect’s car.
According to a source in the authorities, the man “under the threat of a knife handed over all the goods that he had at that time, and also provided the codes of his bank cards.” After that, he was tied up and kidnapped by the sexually abused aggressor.
The victim was released early the next morning in a deserted area of the Vouzela municipality with the assistance of a member of the public.
“The detainee will be presented to the competent judicial authorities of the district of Viseu for the first judicial interrogation and the application of appropriate coercive measures,” the message says.
