On Wednesday, the GNR arrested seven people, three of whom were suspected of drug trafficking, as part of a crime prevention operation involving 40 soldiers in the municipality of Guarda.
Six men and one woman, aged between 32 and 54, were arrested, according to a GNR statement released this Friday.
Of the seven people, three were arrested on suspicion of drug dealing, two for drunk driving, one for driving without a license, and another for possession of illegal weapons.
The arrests, which took place on Wednesday, were carried out by soldiers from the PNS Territorial Detachment da Guarda, according to the same statement from the PNS Territorial Command in the city.
A special crime prevention operation was followed by a traffic inspection to “prevent criminal activity” involving “40 guardsmen conducting inspection activities on various vehicles”, culminating in the arrest of the seven suspects.
Nine administrative offense reports were filed with the Commission on Combating Drug Addiction (CDT), also mentioned in the GNR.
During the operation, 120 doses of hemp oil, 83 doses of amphetamines, 36 doses of hashish, 32 doses of marijuana and 13.5 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms were seized, he adds.
The detainees became defendants, and the facts were referred to the Judicial Court of Guarda.
