Former mayor Espinho was required not to contact other defendants, all witnesses and members of the chamber. But he got rid of the €200,000 bail application requested by the MP.
He discounted the court’s ruling on aggravated offenses of passive corruption, trading in influence and violation of city rules as “absolutely normal and to be expected”, citing the court’s communiqué stating “the danger of disrupting the course of the process and, in particular, the danger to the preservation or credibility of evidence.”
Pinta Moreira is accused of allowing businessman Francisco Pessegueira to receive 50,000 euros to send city projects from the Espinho Chamber.
