The Judicial Police (PJ), through the Criminal Investigation Department of the Guards, arrested on Tuesday a man charged with the crime of attempted murder, which took place in the Celorico da Beira area.
The SP statement clarified that, with the assistance of elements of the NTC from Celorico da Beira, Guarda District, it proceeded to “arrest outside the scene of a 70-year-old man suspected of attempted murder with a firearm and the crime of possession prohibited weapons that happened early yesterday morning.”
The SP describes that “the victim was another man in his 80s” and that “the events took place in the victim’s home”. The crime will be committed for vain reasons.
The statement added that “an illegally modified 6.35mm pistol allegedly used in the commission of the crime, a 12mm shotgun and various ammunition of the caliber of the seized weapons were seized.”
The detainee will be taken to the competent judicial authorities for judicial interrogation and application of coercive measures.
