The bazooka money was slowly making its way to the economy, but the “rain of millions” seems to have begun to be heard.
Payments to Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) beneficiaries accelerated in August to €233 million in three weeks, more than the amounts paid in July and June, but approvals fell ahead of the restructuring.
Between 2 and 16 August, direct and ultimate beneficiaries of the PRR received an additional 233 million euros, bringing the total amount of payments to 2.410 million euros, corresponding to 14 percent of the total.
During these three weeks, the amount paid to beneficiaries exceeded the amount paid in July (€161 million) and June (€123 million).
As of August 16, state-owned enterprises (708 million euros), companies (606 million euros) and public companies (331 million euros) received the largest sums.
This is followed by schools (228 million euros), municipalities and metropolitan areas (174 million euros), families (147 million euros) and higher education institutions (125 million euros), according to the monitoring report.
At the end of the table are the institutions of solidarity and the social economy (47 million euros) and the institutions of the scientific and technological system (45 million euros).
