This Saturday, India launched a solar probe rocket for a four-month journey to the sun. The moment was broadcast live by the Indian Space Research Organization which is promoting the mission.
After the rocket took off just in time from the launch site on the island of Sriharikota in southern India, flight control technicians applauded.
The launch comes just over a week after India landed a robotic probe on the moon’s south pole, an unprecedented achievement in space exploration.
