The accident occurred on the EN110 highway at the end of the day, when a young man walking along the side of the road was overtaken by a car. The help desk was alerted to the incident and dispatched teams from Zapadores de Tomar, GNR and INEM to the scene.
After a medical examination and given the very difficult clinical picture that the minor presented, the INEM team decided to call a helicopter to the Santa Maria University Hospital in Lisbon.
The plane landed at the Tomar Municipal Stadium, where it picked up the victim, who was in critical condition, and took him to the capital.
