A man of foreign nationality, 25 years old, was arrested by the Judicial Police (PJ) for kidnapping, rape, theft and misuse of a guarantee card or card, device or payment data of a 27-year-old woman in Lisbon.
According to PJ’s statement, the crime occurred last week. A hooded detainee approached the victim on a public road as she was heading home and threatened her with knives and firearms. After sexually assaulting a woman, the attacker forced her to hand over the access code to the MB WAY application, through which she withdrew money.
Authorities believe the man has committed other crimes of this type in the same area and with the same modus operandi in recent months, suspecting there may be other victims who have not yet filed a complaint.
The detainee, who was present at the first judicial interrogation at the Criminal Court of Lisbon and had no criminal record, was placed in pre-trial detention.
