The PKP announced this Thursday that it will vote against Chegi’s vote of no confidence in the government, considering that it discredits the use of this constitutional instrument and that the initiative is part of a dispute between the right.
This position regarding the vote of no confidence in Chege, which is to be discussed and voted on in plenary next Tuesday, was voiced at a press conference by communist MP Alma Rivera.
“This vote of no confidence is one of the correct ones. It even constitutes a discreditable use of the tool. The motion of no confidence is supposed to be an urgent instrument that will be discussed over the next three parliamentary days. In this case, this vote of no confidence has been announced for several months as a way to regulate positions among the right. Therefore, this is not in the interests of the Portuguese,” explained Alma Rivera.
The PKP deputy emphasized that her party opposes the policies pursued by the socialist executive with an absolute majority of votes.
Alma Rivera argued that the PS government allowed the accumulation of wealth and favored large companies, “pursuing a policy of clear reporting, obtained at the cost of the complete degradation of the country and the living conditions of the Portuguese.”
“That is why we are fighting against the policies that the government is pursuing. Other parties, namely Chega, are against it for other reasons,” said the PKP MP.
