A parliamentary source told Lusa this Wednesday that the request “has been split” into six requests for hearings.
The hearings of the two associations of musicians and the administration of the Stop condominium were unanimously approved by the PS, SDP, Chega and BE.
The hearings of President Rui Moreira, Pedro Adan e Silva and ANEPC were rejected, with the PS voting against and the PSD, Chega and BE voting in favour.
Speaking to Lusa, MP José Soeiro from BE expressed regret that the hearings of the mayor, the minister of culture and ANEPC were rejected, stressing that the commission could play an “important role” in resolving the current situation with Stop.
In addition to the BE request, the Culture Committee also discussed the PCP parliamentary group’s request for a hearing with the Minister of Culture and two associations representing musicians regarding the “damage caused to cultural activities by the closure of the Stop shopping centre.” “.
PCP’s request was rejected with PS voting against and PSD, Chega and BE voting in favour.
The Stop, which has operated as a cultural space with rehearsal rooms and studios for more than 20 years, closed most of its sections on July 18, leaving nearly 500 artists and shop owners with nowhere to go, but reopened on July 4. , with a fire truck at the door.
After receiving the report of the extraordinary inspection carried out by the National Directorate of Civil Protection (ANEPC), Porto City Council services defended the closure of the shopping center and the attempt to take precautionary measures against ANEPC and the Ministry of Internal Administration.
The owners and tenants of the Stop were notified on September 8 by municipal services that they had 10 working days to vacate the building, more precisely by Friday, the day a new demonstration was called on Avenida dos Aliados to protest against the municipal decision. City Council.
