The Judicial Police (PJ) detained Jessica’s mother and son Tita (allegedly the girl’s nurse) on suspicion of involvement in the murder of a three-year-old child who was tortured to death in Setúbal.
As found out morning PostInes Tomas is charged with aggravated murder and was arrested at her mother’s home in Setúbal.
Another detainee, Eduardo, 28, the son of “nanny” Tita and her partner Justo, who are in custody with their daughter Esmeralda, lives on the top floor of the place where the child was beaten to death. Eduardo is in charge of drug trafficking.
The detainees will be present at the first judicial interrogation about the application of coercive measures.
These arrests come days after the indictment of Tita’s “nanny”, her partner and daughter, who are responsible for aggravated murder, aggravated kidnapping, extortion and breach of physical integrity.
According to the autopsy, the girl could have been saved if she had been taken to the hospital.
The Setúbal court session was adjourned this Thursday and will resume this Friday around 11:30.
Enforcement measures should be known this Friday afternoon.
