Lisbon Academic Week has been canceled due to low public participation, event organizers said Tuesday.
“This decision is based on the public support shown last weekend, as well as what was planned for the last days of the event,” Semana Académica de Lisboa said on Instagram.
The festival, which brings together dozens of artists, guarantees that tickets purchased for the next few days (28, 29 and 30) will remain valid for next year, in May 2024.
The three canceled days correspond to the last event, which had its first shows on the 22nd and 23rd of this month, before the organization made this decision.
Artists such as Kim Barreiros, Toy, Kalema, Anselmo Ralph and D’ZRT were scheduled to perform over the next few days.
On social network X (formerly Twitter), students are unhappy with the organization. “People who do a week Academic V Lisbon doesn’t study,” says the user. “I came to say that a week academic V Lisbon It’s a shame,” writes Caroline.
“More A week Academic V Lisbon canceled and this is another year in which no one is investigating the responsibility (criminal I would say) regarding the financial management of AAL, which in recent years has only served to bury money and become a political springboard,” another user comments on social network.
