PS MP Marcos Perestrello was elected Vice-President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (APNATO) as a member of the Bureau this Monday at the 69th annual session of the inter-parliamentary organization in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The purpose of the assembly is to achieve an understanding of the challenges facing the transatlantic partnership, whether in terms of security, political or economic issues.
In addition to the PS deputy elected vice-president, the Bureau consists of six members. President – Michal Szczerba, Poland – five vice-presidents – Theo Franken, Belgium; Nicu Falcoi, Romania; Kevan Jones, UK; and Linda Sanchez, USA, Treasurer (Wolfgang Hellmich, Germany) and Secretary General (Ruxandra Popa, France).
