This Friday, Parliament approved a draft PS resolution that recommends that the government continue efforts to remove asbestos in schools, but the Socialists rejected all other initiatives on this issue.
The initiatives of all parliamentary groups were voted for, most of which were draft resolutions and the Chegi bill, but only the recommendation of the PS was approved with the support of the Liberal Initiative and the Left Bloc and the abstention of the rest.
Only the PS opposed the remaining diplomas, but, having an absolute majority, this was enough for them to be rejected.
While the Socialists recommended that the government “continue efforts to remove asbestos present in educational institutions” by continuing the current program, other parties went further and called for more stringent requirements for the process.
Pointing out delays and shortcomings in the program, for example, as it only involved the removal of fiber cement sheet coverings, the opposition advocated for the identification of all asbestos-containing materials, a re-evaluation of measures already implemented, in addition to more stringent measures. and transparency in monitoring.
